NT Insecurity

Microsoft Windows NT based servers are quickly growing in popularity. And growing even more rapidly is the list of security holes discovered. If you're running NT, I suggest you look into installing Linux as your networking operating system instead. NT is not as scalable as any Unix variant, and while it is easier to operate its stability is very poor in comparison. If a program running on an NT machine crashes, it's liable to bring down the whole system. Not so with Linux. However, NT 5.0 promises to bring many improvements and advanced security features. At any rate, I hope you find these resources useful.

"A consolidation of important information from many security related sources, including numerous security mailing lists, Web sites, newsgroups, magazines, newsletters, whitepapers, other documents, and our own research. NTSD delivers only relevant information about security concerns. You'll get details about exploits, fixes, defenses, and possibilities, as well as information about recent break-ins, survey statistics, conferences, conventions, press releases, new online information sites, new software and hardware, new techniques, and new technologies -- all relating to security as it pertains to Windows platforms. This publication is distributed each month. And, in the event of a major security announcement, advisory, or discovery, NTSD informs you immediately -- because in today's world, you simply can't afford to wait."
